We need your help
SHPS not only works to support the customer but recognises it is important to work with local landlords to support the tenant/landlord relationship.
We want to work with landlords in Norfolk who have rooms/self-contained properties that are affordable (close to the Local Housing Allowance LHA rate). Working in partnership we hope to support local people into good quality accommodation.
Some customers may be in receipt of Universal Credit to help pay their rent. Case workers will support customers to complete relevant paperwork on time to avoid initial delays to payment of rent and where appropriate paid directly to the landlord
Benefits of working with SHPS

Case workers get to know customers and their needs so will be in a better position to place people into accommodation appropriately.

Case workers work with clients once accommodation has been found to enable them to sustain the tenancy and resolve outstanding issues, saving landlords money in following through eviction processes.

Case workers know the welfare benefit system and will be clear with customers about their benefit entitlement, maximising income where possible and being up front with landlords about the amount they can expect to receive from Universal Credit

We can attend viewings with customers and will ensure they understand their rights and responsibilities as well as those of the landlords before signing up to a tenancy.

SHPS are able to signpost and engage additional support services where needed to reduce likelihood of issues arising. This includes access to employment services to support people to access work opportunities, increasing their independence and ability to sustain their property.

We are paid for the results we get so will work flexibly to ensure we achieve positive outcomes for those worked with.
